Une jeune femme hors du commun est recrutée comme agent secret pour être « piquée » dans l'esprit des personnes récemment décédées, afin d'utiliser leurs souvenirs pour enquêter sur des meurtres et déchiffrer des mystères qui autrement auraient disparu pour toujours.
